John Wayne's Birthday

Today is the birthday of the last American cowboy. John Wayne was an American icon who came to symbolize what being an American meant. Today we remember a time when unbridled patriotism was not something to be ashamed of. The Duke represents the type of person that no longer exists in the world of today's stars. We remember a time when Hollywood actually had someone you could look up to instead of the loud-mouth morons in tinsel town today. It seems appropriate on Memorial Day to remember the famous Western gunslinger that was the embodiment of the American way. He was the personification of the true American spirit and is still remembered by many as such today. He would have been 101 years old today.
