Awesome Alert: Prof. Kedar Of Bar-Ilan University's Arabic Studies Department Lays The Smackdown On Al Jazeera

This video is a MUST-SEE. Watch professor Mordechai Kedar come at that Al-Jazeera moron and blow him out of the water. The best part is when the Al-Jazeera bonehead mumbles and moves on after Kedar says Jerusalem is not in the Quran. If only the United States had people like Mordechai Kedar in our own Deparments of Arabic Studies. Get Olmert out, and Kedar in.

  1. Prof. Kedar,

    Nice job refuting your opponent.
Most importantly, you must stop talking about another Arab(Pal-
    estinian)because the Jewish people
were given that land 3320 years ago
and the 3 major religions do not refute the veracity of Genesis or
    that fact.

  3. I went ahead and sent this to him:

    Dr. Kedar,
I viewed your interview on Al Jazeera discussing Jerusalem. I find it hard to believe that you are a professor of Arabic when you appear in a formal setting and refer to the host "ya akhi," and employ a childish lexicon of Arabic words. "Ya Akhi" is quite unbecoming in a professional setting a news programme, a news studio is not like buying a falafel on the streets of Jaffa.
If your intention was to portray the Israeli perspective on Jerusalem you did a terribly poor job. You managed to shout and protest like a child, employing poor vocabulary and terribly accented Arabic about how Jerusalem is Israel's and how Muslims/Arabs have no stake in Jerusalem and should never have one.
You went on to throw out the typical view (only accepted in Israel and NO other country in the world) that the West Bank is not an occupied territory since it was not belonging to a sovereign of any state. The global consensus refutes what you state, most all legal scholars and EVERY country in the world (except Israel) views the West Bank (and Arab East Jerusalem) as occupied territory.
You sound like a mouthpiece for the days long gone of Shamir. Voices like yours are painful to listen to, and even more painful in such terrible Arabic.
I advise you to invest in some Arabic lessons before you continue to teach it. Bar Ilan should have higher standards.

  4. Mark, it's interesting how nothing you said relates to the veracity of his argument directly.

    1) You hurl criticism in the form of insults such as "You managed to shout and protest like a child"...

    2) You resort to a so-called "global consensus" (which has nothing to do with morality at all...look at the UN, it's a game of power, not morals) without actually defending what that consensus is, or why it exists.

    3) you insult his Arabic...

Way to show someone how to debate intelligently...

  5. Indeed, Mark, the letter you sent does not actually address the points the professor made.
