"No On 8" Protest In Front Of NYC Mormon Temple

This protest took place on Wednesday night as thousands went to target the Mormon Temple in New York City with a protest. Apparently keeping the protests within California where the vote actually took place was not enough.

Allow me to provide you with a little thought experiment. Imagine for a moment that Prop 8 had not passed. What would be the reaction from those who supported it? I do not think people would be protesting across the nation. But let us take a moment to imagine that there would have been protests. Imagine what would happen if some pastor led a protest and blocked traffic on a major Los Angeles street in response to Prop 8 failing? Imagine if gay institutions were being targeted for protests by large groups of Christians and others who supported Prop 8? Suffice it to say I think the reaction from government on on all levels and the media would be very different.

%70 of blacks in California voted in favor of Prop 8. I wonder when the protests against inner city black churches are going to take place?

The logic that these sore losers give for targeting Mormom churches with protests is that Mormons had a large role in bankrolling the "Yes On 8" campaign. Apparently Mormons do not have the right to donate to a legitimate political campaign that they are passionate about. That is because the people who helped the "No On 8 Campaign" raise millions of dollars are open-minded progressives fighting for equality, while those dastardly Mormons that helped the "Yes on 8" campaign are narrow-minded hateful bigots. Let us be honest. I think the Mormons are a pretty easy target and that has something to do with why their churches are the target of these protests. I do not think targeting Mormons for protest is going to ruffle that many feathers. It does not take all that much courage to gather in front of a Mormon church in New York or Los Angeles and yell mindless slogans and chants.

In case you missed it, earlier this week there was a protest in Palm Springs, California. An old lady decided to walk right by the crowd with a styrofoam cross. It did not take long before it was violently pulled out of her hand and trampled by the crowd:
