Bill Clinton: We Need "Fairness Doctrine…Or More Balance"

Bill Clinton says "there's always been a lot of big money to support the right wing talk shows." I think he is confusing Rush Limbaugh with Air America. As Bill Clinton himself notes, right wing radio is "fairly entertaining." It is bankrolled not by some conservative version of George Soros, but by ratings. People listen so advertisers advertise. It's not some hidden right wing dollars that are paying Rush Limbaugh or Sean Hannity's salary. What Bill Clinton, Senator Tom Harkin, and Senator Debbie Stabenow have advocated this week, that being bringing back the fairness doctrine is pure censorship of the opposition. None of us should stand for it.
