CA Speaker Of The Assembly Calls Talk Radio A "Terrorist Threat"

The Los Angeles times asked the following question of California's Speaker of the Assembly Karen Bass in an interview: "How do you think conservative talk radio has affected the Legislature’s work?"

This is what she answered:
"The Republicans were essentially threatened and terrorized against voting for revenue. Now [some] are facing recalls. They operate under a terrorist threat: 'You vote for revenue and your career is over.' I don’t know why we allow that kind of terrorism to exist. I guess it’s about free speech, but it’s extremely unfair."

This is a revolting statement for the Speaker of the Assembly to make. Apparently she has no respect for the First Amendment, which gives the people the right of free speech. That right specifically refers to political speech more than any other. Furthermore, we hold elections precisely so that we can end the careers of politicians when they violate the will of the people. Karen Bass should be ashamed of herself for calling opposition voices terrorists and paying no respect to the right of the people to petition the government for redress of grievances. She is a poster child for the attitude that has lead California to where it is today.
