New York Democratic Congressman Eliot Engel said that honoring former UN Human Rights High Commissioner Mary Robinson with the Presidential Medal of Freedom was "a mistake." In an interview with journalist Jennifer Rubin, Engel said that Robinson "always managed to find a moral equivalence" between Israel and the terrorism Israel faces, and that Robinson "epitomizes all that is wrong with the United Nations" and its anti-Israel bias. Engel went further in an interview with the Jewish Telegraphic Agency, saying that he hoped the administration would rescind the award.

Bravo to Eliot Engel for speaking out against Mary Robinson's nomination to receive the Presidential Medal of Freedom. Robinson promoted anti-semitism at the Durban conference and was not fit to be in that position. Please dissuade Pres. Obama from such a decision!

Unfortunately, Obama has already shown himself to be a terrible president when it comes to Israel.
