The Muslim Public Affairs Council applauded the following segment from Monday’s episode of “The Daily Show.“ “The segment entitled ‘Strip Maul: Israel gets their bombing in before January 20th hope and change deadline’ was superb. Our staff and members appreciated the honest and critical attention brought to the extremely one-sided news reports about the Gaza crisis that have dominated the airwaves,“ MPAC wrote in a letter. When MPAC is praising a show, you know there is something wrong. I find nothing funny about defending and excusing the actions of the Islamoterrorist organization that is Hamas. Of course Jon Stewart makes no mention of the fact that Israel withdrew from Gaza. There were no checkpoints, there was not a single Israeli soldier or settler in Gaza after the withdrawal. Yet he ignorantly talks of checkpoints as a justification for Hamas terror. The fact is that after the Israeli retreat from Gaza the Palestinians turned toward Hamas, electing them to lead their parliament. They continued to smuggle weapons through tunnels across the Gaza-Egypt border. They launched missiles into Israel targeting civilians. They kidnapped an Israeli soldier in Israeli territory. That is the truth, regardless of whether it makes the ignorant "Daily Show" audience laugh.

Anti-Israel "Comedy" From Jon Stewart
The Guardian: Obama "Prepared To Talk With Hamas"
The Gaurdian, a British newspaper, is reporting that "the incoming Obama administration is prepared to abandon George Bush's doctrine of isolating Hamas by establishing a channel to the Islamist organisation, sources close to the transition team say. The move to open contacts with Hamas, which could be initiated through the US intelligence services, would represent a definitive break with the Bush presidency's ostracising of the group. The state department has designated Hamas a terrorist organisation, and in 2006 Congress passed a law banning US financial aid to the group. The Guardian has spoken to three people with knowledge of the discussions in the Obama camp. There is no talk of Obama approving direct diplomatic negotiations with Hamas early on, but he is being urged by advisers to initiate low-level or clandestine approaches, and there is growing recognition in Washington that the policy of ostracising Hamas is counter-productive."
If this is true it would represent a terrible anti-Israel shift in the American government. George Bush has refused any talks with likes of Hamas, a terror organization bent on the complete destruction of Israel. The Hamas charter states in no uncertain terms that “Israel will exist and will continue to exist until Islam will obliterate it, just as it obliterated others before it." Initiating contacts with an Islamofascist organization bent on jihad against Israel would be a dangerous move for our government in a very wrong direction. Meanwhile, it should come as no surprise that the UN, nothing more than the organization of nations united against Israel, passed a resolution calling for a ceasefire in the Hamas-ruled Gaza Strip on Friday. Israel has thus far chosen to dismiss and ignore the "binding" Security Council resolution pointing out that Hamas Islamoterrorists had fired at least 30 rockets into its territory on Friday. For some reason the United States abstained in the U.N. vote, but offered further public support for Israel's military goals with White House spokesman Scott Stanzel putting the blame squarely on Hamas saying "this situation will not improve until Hamas stops lobbing rockets into Israel."

Islamic Rocket Terror Attacks And The Israeli City Of Sderot
Sderot is an Israeli town near the border with Gaza. It is in undisputed Israeli territory. They have been targeted with Islamic terrorist rocket fire for years now. If you have any doubts about Israel's rights to strike the Palestinians you must watch this video and listen to the citizens of Sderot on the front lines in this war. Israel was not founded to be a state in which Jews would live in fear for their lives because of anti-Semitic attacks. I guess history does not change. This video shows some of the horror that the people of Sderot are forced to live with:

Rockets Now Attacking Israel From Lebanon As Well

American Muslim Protester Calls For Jews To "Go Back To The Oven" In Anti-Israel Demonstration
Fox News reports that pro-Palestinian protesters at a rally in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, were heard "calling for the extermination of Israel — and of Jews. ...[A]s the protest continued and crowds grew, one woman in a hijab began to shout curses and slurs that shocked Jewish activists in the city, which has a sizable Jewish population. 'Go back to the oven,' she shouted, calling for the counter-protesters to die in the manner that the Nazis used to exterminate Jews during the Holocaust. 'You need a big oven, that's what you need,' she yelled. Millions of Jews were gassed and burned in crematoria throughout Europe during Adolf Hitler's rule of Germany. The protest organizers, asked to comment on the woman's overt call for Jewish extermination, said she was 'insensitive' but refused to condemn her statement."
Emmanuel Lopez helped plan the event which was one of many sponsored nationwide on Dec. 30 by the ANSWER (Act Now to Stop War and End Racism ) Coalition. Fox News reports that "Lopez, a state coordinator for ANSWER, admitted there is a problem with anti-Semitism within his organization's ranks. But then he went on to call the supporters of Israel across the street 'barbaric, racist' Zionist terrorists." Lopez is further quoted as saying that "Zionism in general is a barbaric, racist movement that really is the cause of the situation in the entire Middle East."
Fox News further writes that the Muslim woman yelling about ovens "wasn't the only protester who raised hackles that day. Other demonstrators held signs that said 'Nuke Israel,' and a number made comparisons to the Holocaust, accusing Israel of genocide in Gaza."
These are not Muslim protesters in Riyadh, Cairo, or Teheran. They are not even Muslim protesters in Copenhagen, Paris, or London. They are Muslims in Fort Lauderdale yelling about putting Jews in ovens and bearing signs calling for the nuclear annihalation of Israel. It should send a chill down every American spine that there are Muslims within our own country, in Fort Lauderdale of all places, that would call for the extermination of the Jewish people.
In light of news of Muslims in Fort Lauderdale comparing Israel to the Third Reich while at the same time calling for a nuclear holocaust against Israel and for Jews to go back to the ovens, the following article by Jonah Goldberg is certainly worth reading: http://townhall.com/columnists/JonahGoldberg/2009/01/07/who_are_the_real_nazis
Just in case you were wondering, pro-Hamas Muslim protesters in Toronto are no different than those in Fort Lauderdale. When a journalist asks a protester to explain why he thinks Hitler "did not do a good job" the protester responds with a smack. It should come as no surprise that violence keeps erupting at these pro-Hamas demonstrations.

BBC Interviews IDF Captain
Former Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who now is chairman of the Likud Party and its candidate for prime minister, wrote an Op-Ed in the Wall Street Journal that is worth reading entitled "Militant Islam Threatens Us All." It specifically deals with the BBC interviewer's absurd questions about the "disproportionate" response to Hamas rockets falling on Israel: http://online.wsj.com/article/SB123128827234659279.html

Columnist Cal Thomas: "Hamas, a Group Designated A Terrorist Organization By The U.S. State Department, Are The Nazis Of Modern Times."
Cal Thomas writes a must-read article on what is going on in Israel. The following are some key excerpts:
Hamas, a group designated a terrorist organization by the U.S. State Department, are the Nazis of modern times. Israel is right to pound military targets inside Gaza, but much of the violence Israel brought on itself by giving up land it had to know would be used to reign down death on its civilians. That is always the pattern.
Why is anyone surprised that after Israel's withdrawal from Gaza in 2005, the vacuum created was quickly filled by Hamas, whose sole purpose is the destruction of the "Zionist entity," as it likes to call Israel, and the killing of as many Jews as possible? The fiction, which is greater than a belief in Santa Claus and the tooth fairy, is that Israel, or the United States, or anyone else, can do anything that will deter Hamas from its objective. What did anyone expect when Israel pulled out of Gaza? The establishment of a Disney theme park, perhaps?
Jews are vermin and less than human, Hamas says. Oh, wait. Wasn't the same said of the Jews by the Nazis? The only difference is that today's killers don't speak German.
The year 2008 marked the 60th anniversary of Israel's re-establishment in its ancient homeland. It also marked the 60th anniversary of the first violent response to the formation of the State of Israel. The violence hasn't stopped despite the efforts of diplomats and politicians. ...
Peace can only come once Israel's enemies are defeated. No "infidel" diplomat is going to stop Palestinian schools from teaching a new generation of children to hate the Jews and to regard all of Israel as occupied Arab land. ...
Iran is behind Hamas, supplying it with rockets, some of which are made in Russia, and with other weapons. The goal of the Obama administration ought not to be "peace," per se. Peace is like happiness: a byproduct of something else. Israel's goal should be peace through strength. The U.S. should commit to building up Israel, militarily and diplomatically, as a deterrent to Israel's enemies, many of whom also hate and wish to destroy America."

IDF Video Explains Background Of Gaza Conflict
Meanwhile, Egyptian Cleric Safwat Higazi provided context to Hamas's war against Israel while on Hamas TV. The following are excerpts from a speech by the Egyptian cleric which aired on Al-Aqsa Hamas TV on December 31, 2008 as translated by the Middle East Media Research Institute:
Being killed is nothing new to us. It is what we desire and hope for. It is martyrdom, by Allah. This is Allah’s victory coming to us. It is Paradise with the first drop of blood of the martyr. ...
I refuse to accept condolences or consolation over a martyr. It saddens me immensely when I see on TV a Palestinian woman from Gaza crying and wailing over her martyr. By Allah, I never see such things among the people of Palestine, the people of Gaza. We always see the mothers and wives of the martyrs in Palestine wailing for joy, and preparing another martyr, another man, to raise the banner. ...
Being killed is nothing new to us. Martyrdom is nothing new to us. You threaten to kill us?! By Allah, you are threatening us with what we desire more than anything. You are threatening us with what our souls yearn for. ...
By Allah, I wish I could carry my gear, carry my gun, and be among you. I wish I could stand among the youth of the Al-Qassam Brigades, passing them one of their missiles, wiping from their faces the dust of a missile that was launched, or crying “Allah Akbar” along with them. By Allah, I wish I could do that. ...
You [in Hamas] are the ones upon whom Jesus, son of Mary, will descend, preaching the religion of the Prophet Muhammad in your land. You are paving the way for the war foretold by the Prophet Muhammad: "Judgment Day will not come until the Muslims fight the Jews. The Jews will hide behind stones and trees, but the stones and trees will say: Oh Muslim, oh servant of Allah, there is a Jew behind me, come and kill him." You are the ones preparing the ground for this, preparing the ground for the return of the Caliphate in the path of the prophets. ...
Allah is with us, and there is nobody with them. Allah is our God, and there is nobody with them. We say to them: We are not equal. Our dead go to Paradise, while your dead go to the Hellfire...We say to them that while our martyrs celebrate in Paradise, your dead find themselves in the Hellfire. We say to you: Dispatch those sons of apes and pigs to the Hellfire, on the wings of the Qassam rockets. ...
Jihad is our path – Jihad for the sake of Allah, in all its forms. This is our strategic option, and not peace. ...
The [Jews], who are as smooth as a viper, and who lick their lips as a speckled snake, will never live with us in peace and harmony. They deserve to be killed. They deserve to die. They are the ones at whom the Qassam rockets should be fired. You should not care if you hit a man, a woman, or a child.

Obama Nominates Leon Panetta, A Man With No Intelligence Background, To Head The CIA
Barack Obama has nominated Leon E. Panetta to be the new head of the Central Intelligence Agency. Panetta is a former California congressman and chief of staff to President Clinton. What he is not, however, is an intelligence professional. He has no experience in intelligence or anything to indicate he understands the world of espionage. Panetta has had no experience at any of the nation's spy services.
This move by Obama is an indication that the next president is more motivated by politics than national security. Even the Los Angeles Times wrote that "Obama appears to have concluded that a spy chief who understands politics may be better equipped to carry out the incoming administration's national security agenda than one who understands espionage." I would agree that this is certainly how it appears, and I would add that this is not how it should appear. The fight against Islamism relies heavily on intelligence capabilities and now, with the continued threat of Islamoterror attacks against America and Iran ticking toward a nuclear bomb, is no time for an intelligence novice to lead the CIA. In fact, the Associated Press reports that "veterans of the CIA were caught off guard by the selection. 'I'm at a loss,' said Robert Grenier, a former director of the CIA's counterterrorism center and 27-year veteran of the agency who now is managing director of Kroll, a security consulting company. The lack of intelligence experience puts Panetta at 'a tremendous disadvantage,' Grenier told The Associated Press in an interview. 'Intelligence by its very nature is an esoteric world. And right now the agency is confronted with numerous pressing challenges overseas, and to have no background is a serious deficit. I don't say that he can't succeed. It may that he can compensate for the obvious deficit.'"
Even top Democrats of the Senate Intelligence Committee have begun to voice concern over the selection. The L.A. Times reports that Senator Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.), who will become the "first female head of the Senate Intelligence Committee, said she was not consulted on the choice and indicated she might oppose it. 'I was not informed about the selection of Leon Panetta to be the CIA director,' Feinstein said. 'My position has consistently been that I believe the agency is best served by having an intelligence professional in charge at this time.' A senior aide to Sen. John D. Rockefeller IV (D-W.Va.), the outgoing chairman of the Senate Intelligence Committee, said the senator 'would have concerns' about a Panetta nomination. Rockefeller 'thinks very highly of Panetta,' the aide said. 'But he's puzzled by the selection. He has concerns because he has always believed that the director of CIA needs to be someone with significant operational intelligence experience and someone outside the political realm.'"

Hamas Killing Fellow Palestinians For Being "Collaboraters"
Palestinian infighting has begun in Gaza as Hamas has started executing Fatah members for being "collaboraters." The Jerusalem Post reports that Fatah officials in Ramallah have told them that "Hamas militiamen had been assaulting many Fatah activists since the beginning of the operation last Saturday. They said at least 75 activists were shot in the legs while others had their hands broken. Wisam Abu Jalhoum, a Fatah activist from the Jabalya refugee camp, was shot in the legs by Hamas militiamen for allegedly expressing joy over the IDF air strikes on Hamas targets... Meanwhile, sources close to Hamas revealed over the weekend that the movement had 'executed' more than 35 Palestinians who were suspected of collaborating with Israel and were being held in various Hamas security installations... Justifying the latest crackdown on Fatah, a Hamas official in Gaza City said that his government had received information according to which Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas had instructed his loyalists in the Strip to start moving toward undermining Hamas. 'We will kill them all if they try to help Israel bring down our government,' the official said. 'We will hang Mahmoud Abbas and [former Fatah security chief] Muhammad Dahlan in the public square if they try to enter the Gaza Strip aboard Israeli tanks.' The Hamas official said that his security forces had launched a massive 'preemptive' campaign aimed at thwarting Fatah's attempts to 'spread anarchy and chaos.' He confirmed that many Fatah operatives had been shot in the legs over the past few days by Hamas 'to make sure that they don't help Israel.'"
Fahmi Za'arir, a Fatah spokesman in the West Bank, said it was "shameful" that Hamas was directing its weapons and energies against its own people instead of fighting against Israel. So much for Fatah "collaboration" with Israel.
The Palestinians do not even have peace amongst themselves, yet somehow Israel is supposed to be able to make peace with them. Explain that one to me.
