WSJ Editorial: "The Wiretap Vindication"

The Wall Street Journal writes an editorial about how "FISA sets the record straight" on warrantless wiretapping. This short article is worth reading. Just as Bush begins to leave office, the vindication of his policies begins, this time from the FISA Court itself: http://online.wsj.com/article/SB123206822799888351.html

Tom Hanks: Prop 8 Supporters Are "Un-American"

Tom Hanks, who happens to be an Executive Producer for HBO’s series “Big Love” about a secret polygamist Mormon family in Utah, spoke out against Mormon support for California's Prop 8 which affirmed the traditional definition of marriage. He had this to say at the show’s premiere party on Wednesday night: “The truth is this takes place in Utah, the truth is these people are some bizarre offshoot of the Mormon Church, and the truth is a lot of Mormons gave a lot of money to the church to make Prop-8 happen. There are a lot of people who feel that is un-American, and I am one of them. I do not like to see any discrimination codified on any piece of paper, any of the 50 states in America, but here's what happens now. A little bit of light can be shed, and people can see who's responsible, and that can motivate the next go around of our self correcting Constitution, and hopefully we can move forward instead of backwards. So let's have faith in not only the American, but Californian, constitutional process.”

I suppose that Tom Hanks would describe those that send powder to Mormon Churches and have compiled blacklists against Prop 8 supporters as great patriots. This is the tolerance of the left when it comes to people that they disagree with. It is interesting that it is the left that claims that it is those on the right often questioning their opponent's patriotism, when the loudest, most visible intolerance of differing opinions comes from the left itself.

Bush's Farewell Address

President George W. Bush bid farewell to America on the night of January 15th, leaving the country with the following important message: "In the 21st century, security and prosperity at home depend on the expansion of liberty abroad. If America does not lead the cause of freedom, that cause will not be led. As we address these challenges - and others we cannot foresee tonight - America must maintain our moral clarity. I have often spoken to you about good and evil. This has made some uncomfortable. But good and evil are present in this world, and between the two there can be no compromise. Murdering the innocent to advance an ideology is wrong every time, everywhere. Freeing people from oppression and despair is eternally right. This nation must continue to speak out for justice and truth. We must always be willing to act in their defense and to advance the cause of peace."

Elite "Iranian Unit" Of Hamas Destroyed By IDF

Arutz Sheva reports that The so-called “Iranian Unit” of Hamas has been destroyed, according to Gaza sources cited Thursday by the Haaretz daily. The sources said most of the unit’s 100 members were killed in fighting in the Zeytun neighborhood of Gaza City. The terrorists had been trained in infantry tactics, the use of anti-tank missiles and the detonation of explosives, among other skills, by the Iranian Revolutionary Guard at Hizbullah camps in Lebanon’s Beka’a Valley, as well as sites in Iran."

Arutz Sheva further reports that two captured terrorists that were "interviewed by Maariv/NRG say that Hamas was not expecting Israel's response to the escalation in missile attacks on Israeli targets that preceded Operation Cast Lead. One of them, a 52-year-old victim of a premature detonation who had already done time in an Israeli jail, said, 'Hamas took a gamble. We thought, at worst Israel will come and do something from the air - something superficial. They'll come in and go out. We never thought that we would reach the point where fear will swallow the heart and the feet will want to flee. You [Israel] are fighting like you fought in '48. What got into you all of a sudden?'" If Israel's action has gotten the enemy to have fear swallow the heart and cause the feet to want to flee, then this Israeli operation may be more succesful than previously imagined. The only way to win a war against a genocidal Islamoterrorist enemy is breaking their will to fight and defeating them.

61 Detainees Released From Guantanamo Bay Have Rejoined The Jihad

The Associated Press reports that "the Pentagon says the number of Guantanamo Bay detainees who rejoined terrorist missions after being released is on the rise. Pentagon spokesman Geoff Morrell said Tuesday that 61 detainees are believed as of last month to have returned to the fight against the United States since being released."

Meanwhile, the AP also reports that "President-elect Barack Obama is preparing to issue an executive order his first week in office — and perhaps his first day — to close the U.S. military prison at Guantanamo Bay, according to two presidential transition team advisers." This begs a very important question that Obama must answer. If Guantanamo is closed down, what is he going to do with all the enemy commbatants being held there?

Recent Anti-Semitic, Pro-Hamas Rallies From Around The Western World

1. OSLO: Johan Fredriksen, chief of staff of the Oslo police, told the website of the daily Aftenposten that "these people came to the protest with knives, bats and Molotov cocktails."

2. LONDON: Pro-Palestinian protest in London ends in violence.

3. DENMARK: Chants of "Down down Israel, down down USA, down down democracy, down down Denmark" were heard at this rally. A Muslim can be seen making the Nazi salute. Further, chants of "Khaybar, Khaybar, ya Yahoud, jaish Muhammad sawfa yaoud” can be heard, which means “Khaybar, Khaybar, O Jews, the army of Muhammad will return.”

4. TORONTO: Hezbollah flags are waving, and plenty of Jew-hating yells coming from the crowd on January 10.

5. LOS ANGELES: On January 6 a rally took place in Los Angeles. A pro-Israel counter rally can also be seen. Go to 4 minutes and 30 seconds in this clip to see pro-Palestinian protesters chanting "long live Hitler" and "put Jews in ovens."

7. NEW YORK: Photos from pro-Hamas rally on January 11. Hamas flags are seen as well as comparisons between Israel and the Nazis.

Recall that the above are only some of the more recent examples of extreme Jew-hatred and violence found at these protests. These are in addition to earlier anti-Semitic jihadist demonstrations that have already been reported, such as the one in Fort Lauderdale where a woman in a hijab was yelling that Jews should "go back to the oven," or the protest in Copenhagen where protesters were chanting in Arabic that the "Jews are the enemies of Allah."
