Jewish Woman Seriously Injured In Arab Rock-Throwing
The Jerusalem post reports that "a 50-year-old woman was seriously wounded on Friday afternoon after rocks were hurled at the car she was travelling in northeast of Ramallah. A man, lightly injured during the attack, was treated by Magen David Adom paramedics. The two were travelling when assailants threw rocks towards the car, piercing the windshield. The man continued driving until they reached Samaria's Tapuah Junction where he alerted rescue forces. Both the man and woman were evacuated to Beilinson Hospital in Petah Tikva. Medical officials said the woman was suffering from a fractured skull." Tweet
Senator Barbara Boxer Lumps Michael Steele Together With The Taliban
In fact, DNC communications director Brad Woodhouse also said that "the Republican Party has thrown in its lot with the terrorists — the Taliban and Hamas this morning — in criticizing the President for receiving the Nobel Peace prize." Obama has no accomplishments in terms of achieving peace, and Republicans wonder why he got the prize. The Democrat response is that criticism makes you like the Taliban. Go figure.

Obama Wins Nobel Peace Prize, For What?
Even the Washington Post is stunned. The Post writes: "Obama is the third sitting U.S. president -- and the first in 90 years -- to win the coveted peace prize. His predecessors won during their second White House terms, however, and after significant diplomatic achievements. Woodrow Wilson was awarded the prize in 1919, after helping to found the League of Nations and shaping the Treaty of Versailles; and Theodore Roosevelt was the recipient in 1906 for his work to negotiate an end to the Russo-Japanese war. In contrast, Obama is struggling with two wars -- weighing whether to increase the number of U.S. troops fighting to defeat the Taliban in Afghanistan and overseeing the withdrawal of American combat troops from Iraq. He is mired in domestic struggles over health-care reform and economic recovery efforts, and searching for ways to build momentum to restart Israeli-Palestinian peace talks and to assemble an international effort to stop Iran's nuclear program."

CATO: Baucus Bill To Cost More Than Projected
The CATO Institute's Michael F. Cannon explains that "Sen. Max Baucus’s (D-MT) health care overhaul would cost more than $2 trillion. It would expand the deficit. But he has carefully and methodically hidden those facts – so well that he has completely hoodwinked nearly all the major media. The media are reporting that the Baucus bill would reduce the deficit by $81 billion over 10 years. Wrong. The Baucus bill assumes that Congress will allow the 'sustainable growth rate' cuts in Medicare’s physician payments to occur beginning in 2012. Yet Congress has routinely and repeatedly blocked those cuts, making Baucus’s assumption preposterous. The CBO handled the issue delicately, but essentially said, 'Sure, provided that the sun rises in the west in 2012, then yes, this bill would reduce the deficit.' That means Baucus will come up at least $200 billion short on the revenue side, making his bill a budget-buster. The media are reporting that the Baucus bill would cost just $829 billion over 10 years. Wrong. As Donald Marron observes, that number omits as much as $75 billion in new federal spending. It also omits a $33 billion unfunded mandate on state governments. But the worst part is that the Congressional Budget Office’s preliminary cost estimate omits the cost of the private sector mandates in the Baucus bill. In Massachusetts, those costs accounted for 60 percent of the total cost of reform. That suggests the actual cost of the Baucus bill – $829 billion plus $75 billion plus $33 billion, times 2.5 – is well over $2 trillion. Yet the CBO score pretends those costs aren’t even there. It’s like a mystery novel that’s missing the last 50 pages. And the media aren’t even curious."

The Wall Street Journal Reports That The CIA Knew Of The Secret Uranium-Enrichment Facility In Qom When It Wrote 2007 NIE Downplaying Iran Threat
The following is a key excerpt from a Wall Street Journal report:
When it comes to politicized intelligence in the Bush years, the critics may finally have a point. Perhaps the work of America’s intelligence agencies was manipulated to suit the convenience of a small group of willful officials, intent on getting their way against the better judgment of their colleagues.
Except the intelligence was about Iran, not Iraq, and the manipulators weren’t conniving neocons but rather the Administration’s internal critics on the left.
That’s one way to look at last month’s revelation that Iran is building a secret second site to enrich uranium, among other emerging intelligence details. The Qom site—too small for civilian purposes but ideal for producing weapons-grade uranium—is supervised by Iran’s Revolutionary Guards and was only declared to the International Atomic Energy Agency after Tehran got wind that the nuclear watchdogs knew about it.
But the more telling detail, as a recent White House “guidance paper” acknowledges, is that the U.S. has been “carefully observing and analyzing this facility for several years.” That timeline is significant, because it was less than two years ago, in December 2007, that a National Intelligence Estimate on Iran’s nuclear programs asserted with “high confidence” that Tehran had “halted its nuclear weapons program” in the fall of 2003.

White House Now Saying Taliban Is Not The Enemy And Is Prepared To Accept Taliban Involvement In Afghanistan's Future
The New York Times reports that "President Obama’s national security team is moving to reframe its war strategy by emphasizing the campaign against Al Qaeda in Pakistan while arguing that the Taliban in Afghanistan do not pose a direct threat to the United States, officials said Wednesday... Mr. Obama’s commander there, Gen. Stanley A. McChrystal, has argued that success demands a substantial expansion of the American presence, up to 40,000 more troops. Any decision that provides less will expose the president to criticism, especially from Republicans, that his policy is a prescription for failure."
In fact, the Associated Press goes even further in reporting this story. The AP writes that "President Barack Obama is prepared to accept some Taliban involvement in Afghanistan's political future and appears inclined to send only as many more U.S. troops as needed to keep al-Qaida at bay, a senior administration official said Thursday... [T]he emerging thinking suggests that he would be very unlikely to favor a large military increase of the kind being advocated by the top U.S. commander in Afghanistan, Gen. Stanley McChrystal."
If these reports are accurate there is nothing untrue in saying that Obama seems willing to surrender Afghanistan. He is willing to accept defeat. The Taliban harbored Al-Qaeda after 9-11, yet now the AP reports high officials are saying Obama is willing to accept involvement of the Taliban in the political future of that country? The President should not have campaigned on Afghanistan being a necessary war. He should be ashamed of himself. Why not allow Nazis involvement in Germany's future after WWII? If this is the attitude of the administration, then our country is being led by a dangerous and naive appeaser of the worst sort.
How Obama's tune has changed. Listen to what Obama had to say about the Taliban during the campaign:

Report Says Global Muslim Population Hits 1.57 Billion
The AP reports that "the global Muslim population stands at 1.57 billion, meaning that nearly 1 in 4 people in the world practice Islam, according to a report Wednesday billed as the most comprehensive of its kind. The Pew Forum on Religion and Public Life report provides a precise number for a population whose size has long has been subject to guesswork, with estimates ranging anywhere from 1 billion to 1.8 billion. The project, three years in the making, also presents a portrait of the Muslim world that might surprise some. For instance, Germany has more Muslims than Lebanon, China has more Muslims than Syria, Russia has more Muslims than Jordan and Libya combined, and Ethiopia has nearly as many Muslims as Afghanistan." Andrew McCathy: "If You Don't Get Islamic Ideology, You Don't Get The Problem In Afghanistan"
To read the full article visit: http://corner.nationalreview.com/post/?q=NWU4MGI0N2VlYTI5NTNmYWQ1YjJlZTliM2M3OGFiN2E
The following is a key excerpt:
Adopting the conventional Western wisdom about Islam (which is probably best exemplified by Larry Wright's otherwise worthy history of al-Qaeda, The Looming Tower), General McChrystal and Fred miniaturize what we're up against. By their lights, our enemy is a fringe element of Muslims who hold the controversial view that Muslims resistant to their severe interpretation of Islam are apostates and can properly be killed under Islamic law. The Islamic term for this view, by the way, is takfir. Fred describes it as an Islamic "heresy" although, as Bernard Lewis has explained, heterodoxy is a Western concept that doesn't have a precise Islamic analogue. Because the takfiris are engaged in "anti-Islamic" violence, the McChrystal/Kagan thinking goes, we can exploit their "heresy" and win the majority of Afghan Muslims to our side.
This confuses a couple of very important things. First, the point of disagreement between the takfiris and other Muslims is primarily over the propriety of killing Muslims. The fact that there is discord between them over that point does not mean the majority of Muslims will side with us over the takfiris. We are non-Muslims, and whatever differences Muslims in general have with takfiri Muslims, their differences with us are more thorough-going and profound.
Second, the fact that most Muslims see takfiri violence against Muslims as violative of Islamic principles does not mean that they see takfiri violence (or, indeed, violence by any Muslims) against us as violative of Islamic principles. To the contrary, as I explain in my column, mainstream Islamic ideology (not just takfiri ideology, not by a longshot) holds that infidel military forces operating in Islamic countries must be fought until they are driven out, especially if they are sowing the seeds of Western culture and governance. CNN Report On How Supreme Court Is Going Rule On Cross In Mojave Dessert
CNN needs to learn there is in fact no Constitutional gaurantee of "seperation of Church and State." That phrase appears nowhere in the Constitution, but rather appears in a letter that Thomas Jefferson penned to the Danbury Baptists over a decade after the Constitution was ratified. The Danbury Baptists wanted assurance from this Founding Father that their religious freedoms would be protected.
The actual text of the First Amendment declares, "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof." Whether the cross in the Mojave Desert is an "establishment of religion" is the only question the Constitution requires asking, and should be the only question the justices of the Supreme Court consider. Sean Hannity Debates Michael Moore On Capitalism
To be completely honest, I was unimpressed with Hannity's performance in this debate. I think Michael Moore needs to go up against someone from the CATO institute who can articulate more cogent arguments for limited government and capitalism than Hannity was able in this debate. For example, Hannity arguing that the secondary mortgage markets played no major role in the economic collapse is not realistic at all. Michael Moore is such a rich target for debate, and Hannity simply did not do as well as he should have in this showdown.

NY Post: White House Gave Doctors At Obama Press Conference White Coats For Photo Op
The NY Post reports that President Obama "rolled out the red carpet -- and handed out doctors' white coats as well, just so nobody missed his hard-sell health-care message... A sea of 150 white-coated doctors, all enthusiastically supportive of the president and representing all 50 states, looked as if they were at a costume party as they posed in the Rose Garden before hearing Obama's pitch for the Democratic overhaul bills moving through Congress. The physicians, all invited guests, were told to bring their white lab coats to make sure that TV cameras captured the image. But some docs apparently forgot, failing to meet the White House dress code by showing up in business suits or dresses. So the White House rustled up white coats for them and handed them to the suited physicians who had taken seats in the sun-splashed lawn area." Tweet

Far fewer (24%) say it is more important to avoid a military conflict with Iran, if it means that the country may develop nuclear weapons."

Former Israeli Defense Minister Shaul Mofaz: Iran "Buying Time" On Nuke Talks
The Jerusalem Post reports that "Iran's plan to open its recently revealed uranium enrichment plant is part of an effort to 'buy time' in negotiations over its nuclear program, former defense minister Shaul Mofaz said Monday. Speaking to Army Radio, the Kadima MK called International Atomic Energy Agency chief Mohamed ElBaradei 'an ostrich with his head stuck in the sand.' He went on to surmise that meaningful sanctions would be imposed on Teheran in 2010, with Russian and Chinese support. 'The exposure of the [plant] at Qom is part of Iran's secret plan,' he said. 'The fact that it was revealed was intended to speed up sanctions.'"

Islamic Movement Leader Salah Arrested For Incitement In Israel
The Jerusalem Post reports that "Sheikh Raed Salah, the leader of the Islamic Movement's northern branch, was arrested Tuesday evening on suspicion of inciting the recent Arab riots in Jerusalem. Salah was arrested in the Wadi Joz area of east Jerusalem, on a rooftop of a home where members of the movement's northern branch had congregated. He was taken for questioning... Meanwhile, police announced that access to the Temple Mount on Wednesday would once again be restricted to Muslim men over 50 with Israeli ID cards, and Muslim women. The restrictions were imposed at the end of last week following security concerns, and police released footage on Monday of stockpiles of rocks inside the mount's Aksa Mosque which Arabs had apparently planned to hurl at Jewish worshipers praying at the Western Wall below. Earlier Tuesday, after Israeli ministers had called for his arrest, a defiant Salah said that he and his supporters 'would pay any price to defend the Aksa [Mosque]' in Jerusalem."

ADL Slams Conspiracy Theories Against Israel From Former President Zelaya
The Jerusalem Post reports that "the US-based Anti-Defamation League cited statements made by ousted President Manuel Zelaya as well as the news director of a radio station that was closed by the interim government in Honduras and by Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez, among others. Most of the comments repeat widely circulated rumors that Israeli soldiers - or in some versions, mercenaries - worked with the troops backing interim President Roberto Micheletti, allegedly supplying some form of tear gas used at the embassy and providing other assistance."
"We know from history that at times of turmoil and unrest, Jews are a convenient scapegoat," ADL national director Abraham H. Foxman, said in a statement released Sunday. "And that is happening now in Honduras, a country that has only a small Jewish minority."
Zelaya is taking after his mentor Hugo Chavez with his nonsensical anti-Israel rhetoric, and it is a shame that the United States has not backed the legal removal of Zelaya from office in Honduras.

Danish Cartoonist Says Muslims Are Not "Free Of Being Mocked"
Fox News reports that the Danish caricaturist whose cartoon depicting the Prophet Muhammad incited rage throughout the Muslim world four years ago says that Muslims need to develop a sense of humor and an appreciation of satire — and they need to understand that they are not "free of being mocked or being offended." Kurt Westergaard told roughly a dozen listeners Wednesday night that he will "always" be ready to defend an individual's right to religious freedom. "As the Danish tradition is for satire, we say you can speak freely, you can vote, you can speak out anytime, but there's only one thing you can't do — you can't be free of being mocked or being offended," Westergaard said. "That's the conditions in Denmark and so many countries." Tweet
