Majority Of Americans Support Afghanistan Troop Increase But Also Oppose Announcing Withdrawal Date In Advance
CNN reports that "six in ten Americans questioned say they favor Obama's plan to send 30,000 more troops to that country. Two-thirds also support his plan to start removing U.S. forces from Afghanistan in the summer of 2011 - although the poll indicates most Americans think that announcing that timetable in advance was a bad idea, and they are skeptical whether conditions in Afghanistan in 2011 will actually allow the U.S. to start drawing down troop levels."
Here is what Dennis Miller had to say on Obama's Afghanistan speech and strategy:

Congressman Issa Blasts Obama Administration's Refusal To Investigate ClimateGate
The Hill reports that the "U.N.'s decision this week to investigate whether some of its climate change research had been manipulated constitutes a 'direct rebuke' of the Obama administration, Rep. Darrell Issa (R-Calif.) said Friday. The White House's unwillingness to open a similar inquiry could now only be characterized as 'a sad abdication of their responsibility to ensure that U.S. policies are not driven by corrupted science and data,' the congressman added. 'The very integrity of the report that the Obama administration has predicated much of its climate change policy has been called into question and it is unconscionable that this administration and Congress is willing to abdicate responsibility of uncovering the truth to the United Nations,' explained Issa, the ranking member on the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee." Michigan Abortion Clinic Calls Abortion A "Normal Experience" And Says The Clinic Engages In "Sacred Work"
Get ready to puke as you listen to a glorification of abortion as a normal and sacred act of goodness and love. It is so distorted and warped a view to hold concerning a procedure that either ends human life or potential human life, depending on one's view of the unborn.
It is clear that anyone going to that clinic will be told only about how normal, sacred, loving, and good it is to have an abortion. But "informed consent" has long been an important part of a responsible doctor-patient relationship. Informed consent is actually a legal condition whereby a person can be said to have given consent based upon a clear appreciation and understanding of the facts, implications and future consequences of an action. It seems to me to be a serious breach of medical ethics for an individual to be provided with insufficient information to form a reasoned decision. If what I just watched in that video is what women are being told in those clinics, it seems to me that those women would not be making their decision based on informed consent, which amounts to a breach of a doctor's duty to his patient.

Wall Street Journal's Daniel Heninger On How ClimateGate Is Undermining The Credibility And Objectivity Of Science
Daniel Heninger writes that if "the new ethos is that 'close-enough' science is now sufficient to achieve political goals, serious scientists should be under no illusion that politicians will press-gang them into service for future agendas. Everyone working in science, no matter their politics, has an stake in cleaning up the mess revealed by the East Anglia emails. Science is on the credibility bubble. If it pops, centuries of what we understand to be the role of science go with it." To read the full article visit http://online.wsj.com/article/SB10001424052748704107104574572091993737848.html. Tweet
"Family Ties" Mom Meredith Baxter, Who Is Three Times Married With Five Kids, Now Says She Recently Had An "Awakening" That She Is A Lesbian
What this does is show that those that claim lesbianism is fixed from birth are simplistic and unwilling to confront stories such as these where a woman with five children has a sudden "recognition" later in life that she now wants to be with other women instead of men:

Argentinean Prosecutor: "Iran Building Terror Network In South America"
The Jerusalem Post reports that the "Argentinean prosecutor who ferreted out Iranian links to Argentina's largest terror attack warned Wednesday of Teheran's growing terror network in Latin America. 'The Iranians are moving fast,' assessed Alberto Nisman, who has secured Interpol backing for the arrest of several Iranians, including former president Hashemi Rafsanjani, for ordering the July 1994 bombing of the AMIA Jewish community offices in Buenos Aires. 'We see a much greater penetration than we did in 1994.' He said that Iran, particularly through Lebanese proxy Hizbullah, has a growing presence in Venezuela, Bolivia, Ecuador and Nicaragua, using techniques it honed in Argentina before the country took measures to counter Teheran following the AMIA bombing. He described sham operations involving taxi drivers, who conducted surveillance without arousing suspicion; fake medical school students, who could stay in the country for many years without raising eyebrows; and business fronts that helped funnel cash to operatives. Meanwhile, the Iranians cultivated ties at the local mosques to search for people who could be radicalized. 'The stronger element that happens today is the complicity of the government,' said Nisman, pointing to the networks Iran develops through its embassies. 'We know that Chavez allows Hizbullah to come in.'"
Now, he said, Argentina is considered a "hostile environment" for Iran, but the Iranian terrorist groups are finding fertile ground in other countries.

Global Warming Skeptic: NASA Has Refused For Two Years To Provide Info Under The Freedom Of Information Act Showing How Climate Data Was Shaped
The Washington Times reports that The fight over global warming science is about to cross the Atlantic with a U.S. researcher poised to sue NASA, demanding release of the same kind of climate data that has landed a leading British center in hot water over charges it skewed its data. Chris Horner, a senior fellow at the Competitive Enterprise Institute, said NASA has refused for two years to provide information under the Freedom of Information Act that would show how the agency has shaped its climate data and would explain why the agency has repeatedly had to correct its data going as far back as the 1930s. 'I assume that what is there is highly damaging," Mr. Horner said. "These guys are quite clearly bound and determined not to reveal their internal discussions about this.' The numbers matter. Under pressure in 2007, NASA recalculated its data and found that 1934, not 1998, was the hottest year in its records for the contiguous 48 states. NASA later changed that data again, and now 1998 and 2006 are tied for first, with 1934 slightly cooler. Mr. Horner, a noted global warming skeptic and author of The Politically Incorrect Guide to Global Warming and Environmentalism, wants a look at the data and the discussions that went into those changes. He said he's given the agency until the end of the year to comply or else he'll sue to compel the information's release. His fight mirrors one in Europe that has sprung up over the the University of East Anglia's Climatic Research Unit in the UK after thousands of e-mails from the center were obtained and appear to show researchers shaving their data to make it conform to their expectation, and show efforts to try to drive global warming skeptics out of the conversation. The center's chief has stepped down pending an investigation into the e-mails." Tweet
British University To Investigate Whether Data Was Distorted At Climate Research Unit
The AP reports that a "British university said Thursday it would investigate whether scientists at its prestigious Climatic Research Unit fudged data on global warming. Thousands of pieces of correspondence between some of the world's leading climate scientists were stolen from the unit at the University of East Anglia and leaked to the Internet late last month. Skeptics of man-made global warming say the e-mails are proof that scientists have been conspiring to hide evidence showing that global warming was not as strong as generally believed. Phil Jones, the director of the unit, stepped down Tuesday pending the result of the investigation. The university had promised a probe when Jones stepped down, but didn't specify what the investigation would encompass. Thursday's announcement was the first acknowledgment that the research itself would be under scrutiny." Tweet

Col. Ralph Peters Says Obama Is "Setting Up Our Military To Fail" In Afghanistan
Ralph Peter writes that Obama's strategy is just "plain nuts" saying, "That's the only possible characterization for last night's presidential declaration of surrender in advance of a renewed campaign in Afghanistan. President Obama will send 30,000 more troops to Afghanistan -- but he'll 'begin the transfer of our forces out of Afghanistan in July of 2011.' Then why send them? If you're going to tell the Taliban to be patient because we're leaving, what's the point in upping the blood ante? For what will come down to a single year by the time the troops hit the ground? Does Obama really expect to achieve in one year what we haven't been able to do in more than eight?"

New York Senate Votes Down Gay Marriage Bill
The New York Times reports that New York's "State Senate defeated a bill on Wednesday that would legalize same-sex marriage, after an emotional debate that touched on civil rights, family and history. The vote means that the bill, pushed by Gov. David A. Paterson, is effectively dead for the year and dashes the optimism of gay rights advocates, who have had setbacks recently in several key states. The bill was defeated by a decisive margin of 38 to 24. The Democrats, who have a bare, one-seat majority, did not have enough votes to pass the bill without some Republican support, but not a single Republican senator voted for the measure. Still, several key Democrats who were considered swing votes also opposed the bill... State Senator Rubén DÃaz Sr. of the Bronx made an impassioned argument against same-sex marriage, describing his continued opposition as reflecting the broad consensus that marriage should be limited to a union between a man and woman. 'Not only the evangelicals, not only the Jews, not only the Muslims, not only the Catholics, but also the people oppose it,' he said... Had the legislation passed, New York would have become the sixth state where marriage between same-sex couples is legal or will soon be permitted. But now that it has failed, New York becomes the latest state where gay rights advocates have made considerable progress only to see their hopes dashed. Last month Maine became the 31st state to block same-sex marriage through a referendum. The Maine State Legislature had voted to legalize same-sex unions earlier this year, but opponents of gay rights gathered enough signatures to put the measure on the ballot. Last year, California voters repealed same-sex marriage after the State Supreme Court said that gay couples had the right to marry. Unlike in Maine, however, New York does not have a referendum process that allows voters to overturn an act of the Legislature. Demonstrators on both sides of the issue were relatively scarce in the Capitol on Wednesday." Demonstrators included "a small group of Orthodox Jews gathered outside the Senate chamber."

Penn State To Investigate ClimateGate Professor
The US News & World Report reports that the "Penn State administration plans to investigate Climategate and determine if it needs to take further action, the Daily Collegian reports. A little more than a week ago, E-mails exchanged among an English university's climate change researchers were illegally obtained from a server and posted online, the report says. Climate change opponents say the E-mails indicate that climate change researchers—including Penn State Prof. Michael Mann—exaggerated or fabricated global warming data. And, according to the report, some E-mails indicate that the director of the research unit in question may have contacted researchers and asked them to 'delete certain E-mails.'" Tweet
Scientist At Center Of ClimateGate E-Mail Controversy To Step Down
The Washington Post reports that a "scientist who is one of the central figures in the controversy over hacked e-mails from the University of East Anglia's Climate Research Unit announced Tuesday that he is stepping down while the university investigates the incident. Climate skeptics have seized on several e-mails from Phil Jones, director of the university's Climatic Research Unit, to other researchers as evidence that prominent scientists have sought to silence their voice in the debate over global warming. The e-mails were pirated and posted online last month." Tweet
Israeli Army Foils Bomb Attack
The AFP reports that "Israeli troops foiled a suspected attempt to bomb the southern resort city of Eilat by a militant who attempted to infiltrate the desert border with Egypt, an army spokesman said on Friday. On Wednesday evening, a patrol spotted a 'silhouette on the Egyptian border and fired warning shots,' the spokesman said. On Thursday morning, soldiers 'found a bag containing 15 kilos (33 pounds) of explosives abandoned at the site where the suspect fled,' he added. Israeli media stressed that the apparent bomb plot came as rumours swirled that a deal was near with the Islamist Hamas movement for a prisoner exchange for an Israeli soldier held in Gaza since 2006." UN Mourns Date That Marks UN Partition Plan
Ynetnews.com reports that "The UN is currently marking the historic date of November 29 1947, the day in which it approved the partition plan separating Israel into two states – Jewish and Arabic. But while in Israel the date is celebratory, as it marks the end of the British mandate and the beginning of independent rule, the UN headquarters in New York and Geneva are holding ceremonies of mourning and solidarity with the Palestinian people. The General Assembly in New York has embarked on a two-day marathon of anti-Israeli debates and votes, during which it plans to focus on the promotion of the Palestinian issue. Hearings will be held on subjects such as sovereignty over Jerusalem and the Golan Heights. Israel has traditionally boycotted the debates due to their one-sidedness, but in recent years has changed its tune. Israel's ambassador to the UN, Gabriela Shalev, is scheduled to speak before the assembly Tuesday and condemn the UN tradition of memorializing the date on which Israel was given a state as a day of mourning... The special debates are scheduled to begin Monday evening, and resolutions will be approved on the following day. Each year six of the 20 annual anti-Israel resolutions are passed by the November 29 assembly. In addition, the UN will hold ceremonies and exhibitions on the Palestinian people and show a film on the subject." Tweet

US Ambassador To UN Susan Rice: Iran's Plans To Build An Additional 10 Uranium Enrichment Plants "Unacceptable" And "Time Is Short"
The Jerusalem Post reports "US ambassador to the United Nations on Monday called Iran's plans to build an additional 10 uranium enrichment plants 'unacceptable,' warning they could bring increased international pressure on Teheran. Susan Rice comments came in reaction to comments from Iran's nuclear chief that UN criticism pushed his country to retaliate by announcing the more-ambitious uranium plans. 'We view the Iranian announcement, if it is in fact accurate and implemented, that they intend to build 10 additional facilities as completely inappropriate and further isolating Iran from the international community,' Rice told reporters at UN headquarters.US envoy Rice indicated the Obama administration, which favors sanctions and incentives, could soon begin seeking added international sanctions against Iran because of its rejection of UN Security Council demands that it freeze all enrichment. 'As Iran makes choices that seem to indicate that it is not at this stage ready and willing to take up the offers on the engagement track, then we will put greater emphasis on the pressure track,' Rice said. 'Time is short and we are serious about implementing to the fullest extent that dual track policy.' Rice said President Obama's offer still stands until the end of the year for Teheran to consider incentives for suspending enrichment offered by the five permanent members of the Security Council - the US, China, Britain, France and Russia - plus Germany." Supreme Court Rules To Keep Detainee Photos Secret
McClatchy Newspapers reports that the "Supreme Court did all it could Monday to lock up forever some incendiary photos that show U.S. soldiers abusing foreign prisoners in Iraq and Afghanistan. Yielding to Congress and the White House , justices took the expected but formal step of reversing a lower court's order that the pictures be released. Using its budget powers, Congress already had moved to keep the photos secret. In a brief, unsigned decision issued Monday without elaboration, the court cited a provision in a Homeland Security funding bill that President Barack Obama signed Oct. 28 . The provision permitted the Pentagon to block the public release of the pictures in question, as well as others deemed to 'endanger' U.S. soldiers or civilians." Tweet
Hezbollah Leader Nasrallah Vows To Continue Arming To Fight Israel
The Jerusalem Post reports that "Hizbullah will improve its weapons capabilities to face off any Israeli threat, the group's leader Sheikh Hassan Nasrallah's said Monday, adding that armed struggle was the only way to regain "Arab lands" captured by Israel. Nasrallah's remarks signaled the group has no intention of meeting a United Nations resolution requiring it to give up its weapons. Nasrallah gave no details on the weapons plans, but Hizbullah has said it has tens of thousands of rockets. The IDF says that since the Second Lebanon War, Hizbullah has tripled its prewar arsenal to more than 40,000 rockets, some of which can strike virtually anywhere in Israel - a dramatic improvement over the short-range missiles fired in the 2006 conflict." Glenn Beck Hits Back At ADL After Being Attacked As "Mainstream Media Figure" Who Has "Repeatedly Helped To Stoke The Fires Of Anti-Government Anger"
The Anti Defamation League recently said that the "most important mainstream media figure who has repeatedly helped to stoke the fires of anti-government anger is right-wing media host Glenn Beck, who has a TV show on FOX News and a popular syndicated radio show. While other conservative media hosts, such as Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity, routinely attack Obama and his administration, typically on partisan grounds, they have usually dismissed or refused to give a platform to the conspiracy theorists and anti-government extremists. This has not been the case with Glenn Beck. Beck and his guests have made a habit of demonizing President Obama and promoting conspiracy theories about his administration."
Glenn Beck responded to this on his radio program:
