Push To Repeal Gay Marriage In New Hampshire

The AP reports that three "weeks after the state legalized gay marriage. opponents are asking lawmakers to reconsider their decision and let voters amend the constitution to define marriage as a union between a man and a woman. The state's House Judiciary Committee was holding hearings Wednesday on two measures brought by gay marriage opponents, who don't see a quick victory but hope to gain voter sympathy that will pay off for them in November... New Hampshire's law legalizing gay marriage was passed by the legislature and signed by Gov. John Lynch last June. It took effect Jan. 1. New Hampshire joined Connecticut, Iowa, Massachusetts and Vermont in allowing the unions. 'A man and a woman together create a family, where individuals of the same gender cannot create a family,' said state Rep. Jordan Ulery, who like Baldasaro is a Republican."
