Mr. Beck seems to have his charts mixed up. If GDP is $14 Trillion, and at worst 2nd term Obama deficit is $1.6 Trillion, that is not 5.9%. That is 11.4%. What I think he is trying to demonstrate, but not relevant is what the deficits are relative to total credit market debt of about $36 Trillion. the true issue is Total Credit Market Debt Relative to GDP. Or total national debt as a percentage of GDP. The issue is not GDP growth, in fact shrinking, and the load of total credit market debt remaining constant, or increasing. He is correct about defaults and mortgages; however, if you look at the growth in credit markets, it all began in the 80s through policies enacted by Reagan under a Democratic leadership in Congress. this is when the corporation gained enormous hold in our political system. The ensuing systems to enrich them are the issue at hand. This system can be used to our advantage to change that situation, but it will require stronger regulation. And it will require a stronger consumer protection system.
