The Jackson Clarion Ledger reports that "U.S. District Court Judge Glen Davidson denied 18-year-old senior Constance McMillen's request to reinstate the prom, noting 'the court cannot go into the business of planning and overseeing a prom.' But based on the evidence presented at the hearing Monday, Davidson said it is clear to him that the Fulton school district violated McMillen's First Amendment rights. 'We feel really good about his ruling and the way that everything has been handled to date,' American Civil Liberties Union attorney Kristy Bennett said. 'This ruling clearly tells school districts there is a First Amendment right to bring same-sex dates to the prom.' " Tweet
