White House Says Rahm Emanuel Had Bill Clinton Offer Unpaid Advisory Position To Sestak In Exchange For Dropping Out Of Senate Primary

The report this morning on the Sestak scandal is that former President Bill Clinton was tasked by White House chief of staff Rahm Emanuel to approach Congressman Joe Sestak to apparently offer him an unpaid advisory role on an intelligence board in exchange for getting him to drop his primary bid against Senator Arlen Specter.

Despite the fact that the White House has finally addressed the story and claims the offer was for an unpaid position, the fact is that it is still a a criminal misdemeanor as federal law forbids the direct or indirect offer of a position as consideration for a political favor.

Futher, one must wonder why former Governor Rod Blagojevich was chased out his position when he claims that what he was doing was attempting to use the open Senate seat as leverage for a political deal? If this is what is proven did occur, is this really any different than the Sestak story? Why did the media rush to judgment against Blagojevich but rush to acquit and sheild the Obama administration regarding Sestak? The Blagojevich attorneys should subpoena Sestak to appear as a witness to testify as to the sorts of political deals that do take place in Washington, including from the White House.
