Democratic Senators On Budget Committee Unanimously Reject Any Notion Of A Balanced Budget

Democrats explicitly reject a balanced federal budget in rejecting two amendments. An amendment offered by Senator Jeff Sessions called for increasing federal spending at "only" 3.4 percent per year over the next decade. A second proposed amendment by Senator Ron Johnson would make it more procedurally difficult to pass a budget that does not balance with ten years. The votes were in partisan lockstep.
