Senator Rand Paul Slams Governor Chris Christie For NRA Comments

Senator Rand Paul bashed Governor Chris Christie:

Paul claimed that Christie had “backed down” on gun rights: “You have some Republicans backing down like Christie backing down and criticizing the NRA, and I think that doesn’t do any good.”  When asked by Ingraham why Christie made the comments, he responded that they were politically calculated. “I think he may be solidifying his support with Democrats in New Jersey and maybe liberal Republicans.”  Paul warned Christie that his criticism of the NRA, as well as his criticism of fellow Republicans over the Sandy relief bill, would come back to haunt him if he made a presidential run in 2016. “I think criticizing the Second Amendment movement and the over-the-top ‘give me my money’ stuff, ‘I want all sixty billion now or I’ll throw a tantrum,’ I don’t think that’s going to play well in the Republican primary.”  “I think people need to think through what their position on these things are.” Paul concluded.

Egyptian President Mohammed Morsi In 2010: Obama Is A Liar, Egypt Must Nurse Hatred Of Jews And Zionists In Its Children

Texas Governor Rick Perry Responds To Obama's Gun Control Efforts

This is how Rick Perry responds:

“The Vice President’s committee was appointed in response to the tragedy at Newtown, but very few of his recommendations have anything to do with what happened there. Guns require a finger to pull the trigger. The sad young man who did that in Newtown was clearly haunted by demons and no gun law could have saved the children in Sandy Hook Elementary from his terror.  There is evil prowling in the world – it shows up in our movies, video games and online fascinations, and finds its way into vulnerable hearts and minds. As a free people, let us choose what kind of people we will be. Laws, the only redoubt of secularism, will not suffice. Let us all return to our places of worship and pray for help. Above all, let us pray for our children.
In fact, the piling on by the political left, and their cohorts in the media, to use the massacre of little children to advance a pre-existing political agenda that would not have saved those children, disgusts me, personally. The second amendment to the Constitution is a basic right of free people and cannot be nor will it be abridged by the executive power of this or any other president.”

Senator Marco Rubio: Obama Does Not Have Guts To Say He Does Not Believe In Second Amendment

Senator Marco Rubio: President Obama Abusing Executive Power With "Policies By Executive Fiat"

The Washington Examiner reports:

Sen. Marco Rubio R-Fla. criticized President Obama moments ago for his speech promoting gun control and abusing his executive powers. The president initiated 23 executive orders during his press conference, vowing to “use whatever weight this office holds” to promote his agenda. In a statement, Rubio warned that Obama’s use of executive power was troubling. “Making matters worse is that President Obama is again abusing his power by imposing his policies via executive fiat instead of allowing them to be debated in Congress,” he said. “President Obama’s frustration with our republic and the way it works doesn’t give him license to ignore the Constitution.” Rubio added that Obama’s proposals would not have actually prevented the school shooting in Newtown, Connecticut and were threatening the Second Amendment rights of legal gun owners. “President Obama is targeting the 2nd Amendment rights of law-abiding citizens instead of seriously addressing the real underlying causes of such violence,” Rubio said.

Fascism:

What he doesn’t think is right is President Obama’s health overhaul and the new costs that coverage requirements will place on businesses. When Inskeep asks him if he still thinks the health law is a form of socialism, as he’s said before, Mackey responds:  “Technically speaking, it’s more like fascism. Socialism is where the government owns the means of production. In fascism, the government doesn’t own the means of production, but they do control it — and that’s what’s happening with our health care programs and these reforms.”

Senator Rand Paul To Introduce Bill Revoking Obama's Gun Control Executive Order

Via the Daily Caller

“I’m told Sen. Rand Paul will introduce language within hours, within hours, to call for the nullification and prohibition of funding for the president’s executive actions announced today and possibly even using the federal courts to nullify and defund some of the things that he plans on doing,” [Fox News host Eric] Bolling said.  [A] Capitol Hill source told TheDC that Paul’s legislation is expected to do three things: nullify Obama’s executive orders, defund them and ask the Senate to file a court challenge to them.

Mali Jihadists Take BP Plant Hostage, Including Multiple Americans

Reuters reports:

The attack could have implications for security across the whole of Algeria’s energy sector, which supplies about a quarter of Europe’s natural gas imports and exports millions of barrels of crude oil each year. Such an attack would require a large and heavily armed insurgent force with a degree of freedom to move around, all elements that al Qaeda has not previously had.  However, the conflict in neighboring Libya in 2011 changed the balance of force. Security experts say al Qaeda was able to obtain arms, including heavy weapons, from the looted arsenals of former leader Muammar Gaddafi.

Prime Minister Netanyahu Hits Back At President Obama: Israel Knows What's Best For Israel

Obama recently was reported to have said that Israel "doesn't know what its best interests are.  Bibi hit back:

A day after US columnist Jeffrey Goldberg quoted US President Barack Obama as saying that Israel under Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu does not know what is in its own best interest, Netanyahu visited the Gaza border Wednesday, was told that December was the quietest month in the last 12 years, and essentially replied to Obama: “Yes I do.”  “I think everyone understands that only Israel’s citizens will be the ones to determine who faithfully represents Israel’s vital interests,” Netanyahu said on a visit to an army base near Gaza in his first direct response to Obama’s reported criticism. “Over the last four years we stood up against strong pressure, and I will continue to do so for Israel’s securit
Sen. Rand Paul agrees with Netanyahu:
Sen. Rand Paul, R-Ky., described President Obama as “arrogant and presumptuous” for reportedly claiming to have a better understanding of that country’s best interests than Prime Minister Netanyahu.  Paul, who just returned from a trip to Israel, followed with a more general statement. “[I]t’s not  American politicians’ business to be dictating the answers,” he said. “I think it’s just presumptuous and arrogant of us to think, well, we’re going to go down to a roadmap of Jerusalem and decide where the neighborhoods can be expanded?”

Proof That Members Of Congress Violate Their Oath To Uphold The Constitution

Proof that members of Congress have no problem violating their oath to defend the Constitution of the United States:

"Each of them takes an oath to defend the Constitution, but many House lawmakers either don’t understand the founding document or don’t take its precepts seriously, according to an analysis by The Washington Times that studied the constitutional backing that representatives submitted for each of the more than 3,000 bills they introduced in 2011... One bill that was signed into law cited only the Constitution’s preamble. Five others cited clauses that don’t exist or were not cited under the correct clause... The rules call for lawmakers to cite the powers 'as specifically as practicable.' Despite that, 108 bills were introduced citing all of Article I in its entirety... Rep. Ed Perlmutter, Colorado Democrat, cited the foreign commerce clause and placed it in a portion that deals with federal debt authority. Rep. Scott R. Tipton, Colorado Republican, sponsored a bill to promote hydropower on federal lands, citing the Constitution’s clause granting Congress the power 'to make rules for the government and regulation of the land.' But the full clause gives Congress power 'to make rules for the government and regulation of the land and naval forces' — clearly a reference to the military, not to federal property. Several others made the same mistake... Rep. Rick Larsen, Washington Democrat, signaled that he didn’t think Congress had any business talking about constitutionality and argued that it was something better left to the Supreme Court... He goofed in each of [his authority statements]...placing the Supreme Court in Article II of the Constitution — which actually sets up the executive branch instead. Article III sets up the court." Calls Grow To Pull Plug On US Gifts Of Tanks, F-16 Jets To Egypt

Fox News reports:

Republican Rep. Vern Buchanan urged President Obama Thursday to stop the shipments of 20 American F-16 fighter jets and 200 Abrams tanks to Egypt. The Florida Congressman is part of a growing chorus of critics who have asked the administration to pull the plug on the $213 million deal. “Simply put, the U.S. should not be providing military assistance to a regime that supports Hamas and is looking more and more like a dictatorship than a trustworthy democracy,” Buchanan wrote in a letter dated Jan. 10. Buchanan recently called for ending foreign aid to Egypt altogether and told FoxNews.com last month that the Muslim Brotherhood-backed government has been sending increasingly troubling signals to Washington, and giving it state-of-the-art fighter jets is a dangerous idea. “We can no longer afford to buy friends across the world that do not have our best interest in mind,” Buchanan said in his letter. “As American’s debt continues to skyrocket, we need to be focusing on policies that grow the U.S. economy, create jobs and reduce the massive federal debt.” The multi-million deal, paid for by taxpayer money, is part of a foreign aid package signed when American ally Hosni Mubarak was president. “A Shariah dictatorship on Israel’s border – armed with American weapons – is a deadly threat to Israel and America,” reads a petition being circulated by The American Center for Law and Justice. “All U.S. funding to Egypt must be cut off until we can certify that aid to Egypt will help the national security interests of the United States and Israel.” The petition has garnered more than 150,000 signatures, and ACLJ Executive Director Jordan Sekulow believes it could bolster mounting opposition in Washington. Although the deal has already been approved by Congress and could only be rescinded by President Obama, Sekulow said lawmakers have leverage because Obama needs their backing for some $1.5 billion in aid earmarked for Egypt later this year.
